  • Brass instrumentation includes trumpets, mellophones, baritones, euphoniums, trombones, and tubas.

  • The battery percussion section marches on the field. This section is typically made up of snares, tenors/ quad drums, bass drums, and marching cymbals.

  • The front ensemble, or pit, is made up of stationary instruments. Typical instrumentation may include marimba, vibraphone, xylophone, glockenspiel, drum set, auxiliary percussion, electric and bass guitar, and more.

  • The colorguard is the primary visual component of the drum corps. Members of this section may spin flag, rifle or saber, dance, and/ or interact with props, etc.

  • Drum majors will be the primary communication of tempo, dynamics, emotion, and directions to the drum corps as well as a liaison between administration, staff, and members. Throughout the season, the drum major is the most visible member of the corps. Positive interactions with other drum majors/corps members, along with being the voice of the organization at all times is a key component to being a great leader.
